Great Dane
The Great Dane is a large dog breed known for its impressive size and gentle temperament. Originating in Germany, these dogs were initially bred for hunting large game. They can weigh between 100 to 175 pounds and stand up to 34 inches tall at the shoulder, making them one of the tallest dog breeds.
Despite their size, Great Danes are often referred to as "gentle giants" due to their friendly and affectionate nature. They are known to be good with children and other pets, making them excellent family companions. Regular exercise and socialization are important for their well-being.
