Grandmaster (Chess)
A Grandmaster (GM) is the highest title awarded by the World Chess Federation (FIDE) to chess players. To earn this title, a player must achieve a FIDE rating of 2500 or higher and secure three tournament results known as "norms" against other titled players. This title is a mark of exceptional skill and dedication in the game of chess.
Grandmasters often compete in international tournaments and may also engage in teaching, writing, or commentary related to chess. The title is lifetime, meaning once a player becomes a Grandmaster, they retain the title regardless of their future performance.
