Graduate Teaching Assistant
A Graduate Teaching Assistant (GTA) is a graduate student who assists professors in teaching undergraduate courses. GTAs often help with grading assignments, leading discussion sections, and providing support to students. This role allows graduate students to gain valuable teaching experience while pursuing their own studies.
In addition to teaching responsibilities, GTAs may also conduct research, attend faculty meetings, and participate in professional development activities. This position is common in many universities and is often part of a graduate student's funding package, which can include a stipend and tuition remission.
