Grace Marks
Grace Marks is a historical figure known for her involvement in the 1843 murder of her employer, Thomas Kinnear, and his housekeeper, Nancy Montgomery, in Canada. At just 16 years old, she was accused of being an accomplice in the crime, which led to a sensational trial that captured public attention.
Despite her claims of innocence and suggestions that she suffered from amnesia, Grace was convicted and sentenced to death. Her sentence was later commuted to life imprisonment, and she spent over 30 years in prison before being released. Her story has inspired various books and adaptations, including the novel Alias Grace by Margaret Atwood.
