Government of National Accord
The Government of National Accord (GNA) is a political entity established in Libya in 2015 to unify the country's various factions and restore stability after years of conflict. Formed under a United Nations-led initiative, the GNA aimed to create a framework for governance and facilitate peace negotiations among rival groups.
The GNA was based in Tripoli and recognized by the United Nations as the legitimate government of Libya. However, it faced significant challenges, including opposition from rival factions and ongoing violence, which complicated efforts to achieve lasting peace and rebuild the nation.
