Gotabaya Rajapaksa
Gotabaya Rajapaksa is a Sri Lankan politician and former military officer who served as the President of Sri Lanka from November 2019 until July 2022. He is a member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna party and is known for his role in the country's civil war, where he held various positions in the military.
Rajapaksa is the brother of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, who served from 2005 to 2015. His presidency faced significant challenges, including economic crises and public protests, leading to his resignation amid widespread unrest in July 2022.
