Gota Rajapaksa
Gota Rajapaksa is a Sri Lankan politician and former military officer who served as the President of Sri Lanka from November 2019 until July 2022. He is a member of the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna party and is known for his role in the country's civil war, where he held various positions in the military.
Born on June 20, 1949, Gota is the younger brother of Mahinda Rajapaksa, a former President of Sri Lanka. His presidency was marked by economic challenges and widespread protests, leading to his resignation amid public discontent over rising living costs and governance issues.
