Gorner Glacier
Gorner Glacier is one of the largest glaciers in the Alps, located in the Pennine Alps of Switzerland. It stretches approximately 12 kilometers and is situated near the famous Matterhorn mountain. The glacier is a popular destination for hikers and climbers, offering stunning views of the surrounding peaks.
The glacier is fed by several smaller glaciers and is part of the Gornergrat area, which is accessible by a cogwheel train. Due to climate change, Gorner Glacier has been retreating over the years, leading to concerns about its future and the impact on local ecosystems.
