Gordon William Lillie
Gordon William Lillie, also known as Pawnee Bill, was an American showman and performer born on February 6, 1860. He gained fame in the late 19th and early 20th centuries for his Wild West shows, which showcased cowboy culture and Native American life. Lillie was known for his elaborate performances that included roping, riding, and sharpshooting.
In addition to his entertainment career, Lillie was an advocate for the Pawnee tribe and worked to preserve their culture. He married May Lillie, who was also a performer, and together they contributed to the popularity of Wild West shows across the United States. Lillie passed away on December 2, 1942.
