Gondwana Rainforests of Australia
The Gondwana Rainforests of Australia are a UNESCO World Heritage site, recognized for their rich biodiversity and ancient ecosystems. These rainforests are remnants of the supercontinent Gondwana, which existed over 180 million years ago. They are home to unique plant and animal species, many of which are found nowhere else in the world.
Located primarily in New South Wales and Queensland, the rainforests feature lush vegetation, including towering trees and ferns. The area is also significant for its geological formations and diverse habitats, supporting wildlife such as the Lyrebird and the Northern Hairy-nosed Wombat.
