Godparent
A godparent is a person chosen by the parents of a child to take an interest in the child's upbringing and personal development. Traditionally, godparents are involved in religious ceremonies, such as a baptism, where they promise to support the child's spiritual growth. This role can also extend to providing guidance and mentorship throughout the child's life.
In many cultures, having a godparent is seen as a special bond between the child and the godparent. The relationship often includes celebrating important milestones, such as birthdays and graduations, and offering emotional support. Godparents may also play a role in the child's education and moral development.
