Goaltender
A goaltender, often referred to as a goalie, is a key player in sports like hockey and soccer. Their primary role is to prevent the opposing team from scoring by blocking shots on goal. Goaltenders use specialized equipment, such as pads, gloves, and helmets, to protect themselves and enhance their ability to stop the puck or ball.
In ice hockey, the goaltender plays in a designated area called the crease, while in soccer, they can use their hands within the penalty area. Goaltenders must possess quick reflexes, strong decision-making skills, and excellent positioning to effectively defend their goal against attackers.
