Gnostic Christianity
Gnostic Christianity is a religious movement that emerged in the early centuries of the Christian era, blending elements of Christianity with Gnostic beliefs. Gnostics emphasized personal spiritual knowledge, or "gnosis," over orthodox teachings and rituals. They often viewed the material world as flawed or evil, created by a lesser deity, and sought to attain spiritual enlightenment through inner knowledge.
Central to Gnostic Christianity are texts like the Gospel of Thomas and the Gospel of Mary, which present alternative interpretations of Jesus' teachings. Gnostics believed that salvation comes from understanding one's divine nature and the true nature of the universe, rather than through faith alone or adherence to established doctrines.
