Gnat
A gnat is a small flying insect that belongs to the family of Ceratopogonidae or Chironomidae. They are often found in damp or wet environments, such as near ponds, marshes, or forests. Gnats are typically less than 5 millimeters long and can be recognized by their slender bodies and long legs.
These insects are known for their swarming behavior, especially during warm months. While some species are harmless, others can bite and cause irritation to humans and animals. Gnats play a role in the ecosystem as pollinators and as a food source for various birds and fish.
