Global North-South Divide
The "Global North-South Divide" refers to the socio-economic and political differences between countries in the Northern Hemisphere, often referred to as the Global North, and those in the Southern Hemisphere, known as the Global South. The Global North typically includes developed nations with higher income levels, advanced technology, and better infrastructure, while the Global South comprises developing countries facing challenges like poverty, limited access to education, and inadequate healthcare.
This divide is not strictly geographical; it also encompasses disparities in wealth, resources, and power. Factors such as colonial history, trade relationships, and global economic policies contribute to these inequalities. Organizations like the United Nations and World Bank work to address these issues and promote sustainable development in the Global South.
