Glenn H. Curtiss
Glenn H. Curtiss was an American aviation pioneer born on May 21, 1878, in Hammondsport, New York. He is best known for his contributions to early flight, particularly in the development of seaplanes and the first successful flight of a powered aircraft in 1908. Curtiss founded the Curtiss Aeroplane Company, which became a major manufacturer of aircraft during the early 20th century.
In addition to his work in aviation, Curtiss was also involved in the automobile industry and held numerous patents related to engines and aircraft design. His innovations helped shape the future of aviation and earned him the title "Father of Naval Aviation" for his work with the U.S. Navy. Curtiss passed away on July 23, 1930.
