Glacier Peak
Glacier Peak is an active stratovolcano located in the North Cascades of Washington State. It stands at an elevation of 10,541 feet (3,213 meters) and is part of the Cascade Range. The volcano is known for its symmetrical cone shape and is surrounded by several glaciers, contributing to its name.
The last significant eruption of Glacier Peak occurred around 850 CE, and it has had several smaller eruptions since then. The area around the volcano is protected as part of the Glacier Peak Wilderness, which offers opportunities for hiking and exploring the natural beauty of the region.
