Girly-Sound
Girly-Sound is a collection of early home recordings by Liz Phair, an American singer-songwriter. Created in the early 1990s, these tapes feature raw, intimate songs that showcase her unique voice and songwriting style. The recordings were made on a four-track cassette recorder and highlight her personal experiences and emotions.
The tapes gained attention when they were circulated among friends and music enthusiasts, eventually leading to Phair's breakthrough album, Exile in Guyville, in 1993. Girly-Sound is often celebrated for its influence on the indie rock genre and its role in shaping the sound of female artists in the 1990s.
