Giraffa reticulata
Giraffa reticulata, commonly known as the reticulated giraffe, is a species of giraffe found primarily in the savannas and open woodlands of East Africa. It is distinguished by its striking coat pattern, featuring a network of light-colored patches separated by thin, white lines. This unique pattern helps it blend into its environment, providing camouflage from predators.
Reticulated giraffes are the tallest land animals, with males reaching heights of up to 18 feet. They primarily feed on leaves, fruits, and flowers from trees, using their long necks to reach high branches. Their social structure is typically loose, with individuals forming small groups or herds.
