Gir
Gir is a national park located in the state of Gujarat, India. It is renowned for being the last refuge of the endangered Asiatic lion. The park covers an area of approximately 1,412 square kilometers and features a mix of dry deciduous forests, scrubland, and grasslands, providing a diverse habitat for various wildlife species.
Established in 1965, Gir was designated as a wildlife sanctuary and later upgraded to a national park in 1978. In addition to lions, the park is home to other animals such as leopards, deer, and numerous bird species, making it a popular destination for wildlife enthusiasts and photographers.
