Giant Stone Heads
The "Giant Stone Heads," known as Moai, are massive statues located on Easter Island, a remote island in the Pacific Ocean. These monolithic figures were carved by the Rapa Nui people between 1400 and 1650 CE. The heads are made from volcanic tuff and can weigh up to 75 tons, with some standing over 30 feet tall.
The Moai are believed to represent ancestral figures and were placed on stone platforms called Ahu. They were created to honor important leaders and to serve as a connection between the living and the spiritual world. Today, they are a significant cultural symbol and attract many visitors.
