Giant Ocean Tank
The Giant Ocean Tank is a large, cylindrical aquarium located at the Caribbean Coral Reef exhibit in the New England Aquarium. It holds approximately 200,000 gallons of seawater and is home to a diverse range of marine life, including caribbean reef sharks, sea turtles, and various species of fish. The tank is designed to mimic a natural coral reef ecosystem, providing a habitat for its inhabitants.
Visitors can view the tank from multiple levels, allowing for an immersive experience. The Giant Ocean Tank also features a coral reef structure, which provides hiding spots and breeding areas for the animals. Educational programs and feeding demonstrations are often held to engage the public and promote marine conservation.
