Giant Cowbird
The Giant Cowbird is a large bird native to parts of South America, particularly in countries like Brazil and Argentina. It belongs to the family Icteridae and is known for its distinctive black plumage and striking yellow eyes. Adult males can reach lengths of about 40 centimeters, making them one of the largest cowbirds.
These birds are brood parasites, meaning they lay their eggs in the nests of other bird species, such as sparrows and wrens. The Giant Cowbird's young often outcompete the host's chicks for food and resources, which can negatively impact the host species' survival.
