Gharial Behavior
The gharial is a unique species of crocodilian known for its long, slender snout, which is adapted for catching fish. Gharials are primarily aquatic and spend most of their time in rivers, basking on riverbanks or floating in the water. They are social animals and can often be seen basking in groups, especially during the warmer months.
Gharials are generally non-aggressive towards humans and other animals, preferring to avoid confrontation. They communicate through a series of hisses and growls, particularly during the breeding season. Males are known to display their distinctive gharial snouts to attract females, showcasing their health and vitality.
