Gerenuk
The Gerenuk is a unique species of antelope found in the dry savannas and bushlands of East Africa. Known for its long neck and slender legs, the Gerenuk can stand on its hind legs to reach leaves and branches that are high off the ground. This adaptation helps it survive in environments where food is scarce.
Gerenuks are typically light brown with white markings on their face and underbelly. They are social animals, often seen in small groups, and are known for their graceful movements. Their diet mainly consists of leaves, fruits, and flowers, making them browsers rather than grazers.
