Gerald R. Ford-Class Aircraft Carrier
The Gerald R. Ford-Class Aircraft Carrier is a class of nuclear-powered aircraft carriers designed for the United States Navy. Named after the 38th President of the United States, Gerald R. Ford, these carriers feature advanced technology, including a new flight deck design and improved launch systems, which enhance their operational capabilities.
The first ship of the class, USS Gerald R. Ford (CVN-78), was commissioned in 2017. These carriers are intended to replace the older Nimitz-Class carriers and are equipped to support a wide range of military operations, providing a mobile airbase for naval aviation.
