Gerald Durrell
Gerald Durrell was a British naturalist, zookeeper, and author, born on January 7, 1925, in India. He is best known for his work in wildlife conservation and for founding the Durrell Wildlife Conservation Trust in 1963. His passion for animals and nature led him to travel extensively, collecting and studying various species.
Durrell wrote several popular books, including My Family and Other Animals, which recounts his childhood experiences on the Greek island of Corfu. His engaging storytelling and dedication to wildlife preservation have inspired many to appreciate and protect the natural world. Durrell passed away on January 30, 1995.
