Georgia Health Sciences University
Georgia Health Sciences University (GHSU) was a public research university located in Augusta, Georgia. It was established in 1828 and focused primarily on health sciences education, offering degrees in medicine, nursing, and allied health professions. GHSU was known for its strong emphasis on research and clinical training.
In 2012, GHSU merged with Augusta State University to form Georgia Regents University, which later became known as Augusta University. This merger expanded the university's academic offerings and strengthened its commitment to health education and research in the region.
