Georgi Asparuhov
Georgi Asparuhov was a prominent Bulgarian footballer, born on May 4, 1943, in Sofia, Bulgaria. He played as a forward and is widely regarded as one of the greatest players in Bulgarian football history. Asparuhov spent most of his career at Slavia Sofia, where he won multiple national championships and became known for his exceptional skill and goal-scoring ability.
Asparuhov also represented the Bulgarian national team, earning 50 caps and scoring 19 goals between 1961 and 1970. His contributions to the sport were recognized when he was awarded the title of Footballer of the Year in Bulgaria. Tragically, he passed away in a car accident on June 30, 1971, at the age of 28.
