George Herbig
George Herbig was an American astronomer known for his significant contributions to the study of stellar formation and the properties of young stars. He is best recognized for discovering the Herbig-Haro objects, which are small nebulae associated with newborn stars. His work helped to advance the understanding of how stars and planetary systems form.
Herbig was born on June 19, 1924, and spent much of his career at the University of California, Berkeley. He published numerous papers and conducted extensive research on the T Tauri stars, which are a type of young star that is still in the process of forming. His findings have had a lasting impact on the field of astrophysics.
