George Colman the Younger
George Colman the Younger was an English playwright and poet born in 1762. He was the son of George Colman the Elder, a prominent figure in the theater. Colman the Younger is best known for his comedic works, including the popular play The Clandestine Marriage, which he co-wrote with Burgoyne.
In addition to his plays, Colman was also involved in the management of the Theatre Royal, Haymarket in London. His contributions to the theatrical world helped shape English comedy in the late 18th and early 19th centuries. He passed away in 1836, leaving a lasting legacy in the arts.
