George Band
George Band was a British mountaineer known for his significant contributions to climbing in the mid-20th century. He was part of the first successful ascent of Kangchenjunga, the third highest mountain in the world, in 1955. Band was also a member of the British Everest Expedition in 1953, which famously included Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay.
