Georg Wilhelm of Hanover
Georg Wilhelm of Hanover was a German nobleman born in 1665. He was the son of Ernest Augustus, Elector of Hanover and Sophia of the Palatinate, making him part of the influential House of Hanover. Georg Wilhelm held the title of Duke of Cumberland and was known for his military service and involvement in various European conflicts.
He became the Duke of Cumberland in 1694 and later served in the Great Northern War. Georg Wilhelm's life was marked by his efforts to strengthen the position of the Hanoverian dynasty in Europe. He passed away in 1726, leaving behind a legacy tied to his family's prominence.
