Georg Festetics
Georg Festetics was a prominent Hungarian nobleman and landowner in the 18th century, known for his contributions to agriculture and education. He was born in 1755 and became the founder of the Georgikon Agricultural College in 1797, which was one of the first agricultural institutions in Europe. His efforts aimed to improve farming techniques and promote agricultural education among the local population.
Festetics was also recognized for his extensive estate, the Keszthely Palace, which became a center for cultural and social activities. His legacy includes advancements in agricultural practices and a commitment to education, influencing future generations in Hungary.
