Geococcyx
The term "Geococcyx" refers to a genus of birds commonly known as roadrunners. These birds are native to the deserts and arid regions of the southwestern United States and Mexico. They are known for their distinctive long tails, strong legs, and ability to run at high speeds, often reaching up to 20 miles per hour.
Roadrunners primarily feed on insects, small reptiles, and other small animals. They are also famous for their unique behavior of hunting and foraging on the ground rather than flying. The most well-known species within this genus is the Greater Roadrunner (Geococcyx californianus).
