Geobukseon
The Geobukseon, also known as the "turtle ship," was a type of warship used by the Korean navy during the late 16th century. It was designed by Admiral Yi Sun-sin to combat Japanese invasions during the Imjin War. The ship's unique design featured a turtle-like shell, which provided protection for its crew and cannons.
Geobukseon were equipped with multiple cannons and spikes on the roof to deter enemy boarding. Their innovative construction allowed for greater maneuverability and firepower compared to traditional ships of the time. The Geobukseon played a crucial role in several naval battles, contributing significantly to Korea's defense.
