Genomic Organization
Genomic organization refers to the arrangement and structure of genetic material within an organism's cells. In eukaryotes, such as humans, DNA is organized into chromosomes, which are located in the nucleus. Each chromosome contains many genes, which are segments of DNA that code for proteins and determine traits.
In prokaryotes, like bacteria, genomic organization is simpler. Their DNA is typically circular and exists in a region called the nucleoid, without a surrounding membrane. Prokaryotic genomes often contain fewer genes and are organized differently, often with operons that allow for coordinated gene expression.
