General P.G.T. Beauregard
General P.G.T. Beauregard was a prominent Confederate general during the American Civil War. Born on May 28, 1818, in Louisiana, he graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point. Beauregard is best known for his role in the first major battle of the war, the First Battle of Bull Run, where he played a key part in the Confederate victory.
Throughout the war, Beauregard commanded several important campaigns, including the defense of Charleston, South Carolina, and the Battle of Shiloh. After the war, he worked in various civil engineering and railroad positions, contributing to the post-war economy until his death on February 20, 1893.
