General Foods Corporation was an American food processing company known for producing a wide range of popular food products. Founded in 1920, it became famous for brands like Jell-O, Maxwell House Coffee, and Post Cereals. The company played a significant role in the development of convenience foods during the mid-20th century.
In 1985, General Foods was acquired by Philip Morris Companies, which later became known as Altria Group. The acquisition allowed General Foods to expand its product offerings and distribution. Eventually, in 1995, the company was merged with Kraft Foods, further solidifying its presence in the food industry.
