Gemma Galgani
Gemma Galgani was an Italian mystic born on March 12, 1878, in Capannori, Italy. She is best known for her deep spiritual experiences and her devotion to Jesus Christ. Gemma became a member of the Passionist order and is recognized for her intense prayer life and mystical visions, which she documented in her writings.
Galgani's life was marked by suffering, including illness and the loss of her family members. She died on April 11, 1903, at the age of 25. In 1940, she was canonized as a saint by Pope Pius XII, and her feast day is celebrated on April 16.
