Gemini 6A
Gemini 6A was a crewed spaceflight mission conducted by NASA as part of the Gemini program. Launched on December 12, 1965, it aimed to demonstrate the ability to rendezvous and dock with another spacecraft in orbit. The mission featured astronauts Walter M. Schirra and Thomas P. Stafford aboard the Gemini 6A spacecraft.
During the mission, Gemini 6A successfully performed a rendezvous with Gemini 7, which had been in orbit for 14 days. This historic event marked the first time two crewed spacecraft met in space, paving the way for future missions, including those of the Apollo program.
