Gaur
The Gaur, also known as the Indian bison, is a large wild cattle species native to South Asia. It is characterized by its muscular build, long horns, and a distinctive hump on its shoulders. Gaur typically inhabit forests and grasslands, where they graze on grasses, leaves, and shrubs.
These animals are social and often found in herds, which can range from a few individuals to over a hundred. The Gaur plays a crucial role in its ecosystem by helping to maintain vegetation balance. Due to habitat loss and hunting, the Gaur is classified as vulnerable by the IUCN.
