Gary Payton is a former professional basketball player known for his exceptional defensive skills and playmaking ability. He played the majority of his career with the Seattle SuperSonics in the NBA, where he earned the nickname "The Glove" for his tight defense. Payton was a 9-time All-Star and won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year award in 1996.
In addition to his defensive prowess, Payton was also a skilled scorer and passer, averaging over 16 points and 6 assists per game throughout his career. He won an NBA Championship with the Miami Heat in 2006 and was inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2013.
