Gannett Peak
Gannett Peak is the highest mountain in the Wind River Range of Wyoming, standing at 13,809 feet (4,207 meters). It is located within the Bridger-Teton National Forest and is part of the Shoshone National Forest. The peak is known for its rugged terrain and stunning glacial features, attracting climbers and outdoor enthusiasts.
The mountain was first summited in 1922 and is named after the American journalist and explorer William Gannett. Gannett Peak is often accessed via the Titcomb Basin, which offers breathtaking views and a challenging hiking experience. The area is also home to diverse wildlife and beautiful alpine lakes.
