Gamma Capricorni, also known as Nashira, is a star located in the constellation of Capricornus. It is classified as a G-type giant star, which means it is larger and more luminous than our Sun. Nashira is approximately 39 light-years away from Earth and has an apparent magnitude of around 3.65, making it visible to the naked eye.
This star is part of a group of stars that form the shape of a goat, which is represented by the constellation Capricornus. Gamma Capricorni is often associated with the mythological figure of the sea-goat, a creature that is half goat and half fish. Its name, Nashira, translates to "the bearer of good news" in Arabic.
