Galactic Year
A "Galactic Year," also known as a cosmic year, is the time it takes for our solar system to orbit around the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. This journey takes approximately 225 to 250 million Earth years to complete.
During a Galactic Year, the solar system travels through various regions of the galaxy, experiencing different cosmic environments. The speed of this orbit is about 230 kilometers per second (143 miles per second), allowing the solar system to cover vast distances in the universe over such an extended period.
