GDDR2
GDDR2 stands for Graphics Double Data Rate 2, a type of memory used primarily in graphics cards. It was developed to improve the performance of graphics processing units (GPUs) by allowing data to be transferred on both the rising and falling edges of the clock signal, effectively doubling the data rate compared to its predecessor, SDRAM.
Introduced in the early 2000s, GDDR2 offered higher bandwidth and better performance for 3D graphics and gaming applications. However, it has since been succeeded by more advanced memory types, such as GDDR3 and GDDR5, which provide even greater speeds and efficiency for modern graphics processing needs.
