G2 Phases
The G2 phase is a part of the cell cycle that occurs after DNA replication in the S phase and before cell division in the M phase. During G2, the cell continues to grow and produce proteins, ensuring it is ready for mitosis. This phase is crucial for checking DNA for any damage and making necessary repairs.
Cells in the G2 phase also undergo preparations for mitosis, including the duplication of organelles and the synthesis of microtubules. These activities help ensure that each daughter cell receives the proper components and genetic material during cell division.
