Furnariidae
The family Furnariidae, commonly known as ovenbirds, consists of a diverse group of small to medium-sized birds primarily found in the forests and grasslands of Central and South America. They are known for their unique nesting behavior, where they construct elaborate nests resembling ovens, hence the name. These birds are typically brown or streaked in color, which helps them blend into their surroundings.
Ovenbirds are primarily insectivorous, feeding on insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates. They are also known for their varied vocalizations, which play a crucial role in communication and territory establishment. Some species within this family include the Rufous-capped Warbler and the Pale-breasted Spinetail.
