Friday prayers
Friday prayers, known as Jumu'ah, are a special congregational prayer held by Muslims every Friday. This prayer replaces the regular Dhuhr prayer and is performed in a mosque. It consists of two units of prayer and is preceded by a sermon, or khutbah, delivered by the imam.
The Friday prayer is significant in Islam, as it emphasizes community and unity among Muslims. It is obligatory for adult males, while women and children are encouraged to attend. The gathering fosters a sense of belonging and provides an opportunity for spiritual reflection and learning.
